Chrysler high-performance brand SRT (Street and Racing Technology) has released additional details on the 2014 Viper TA (Time Attack), the track-ready "snake" which is scheduled to arrive in dealerships by the end of the year.
Developed to be the lightest road-legal Viper yet, the TA Special Edition Package model features a unique race-tuned calibration for the Bilstein DampTronic suspension, retuned springs/shocks, carbon fiber structural X-braces, new Brembo rotors and carbon fiber front splitters and rear spoiler.
The Viper TA rides on Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires mounted on ultra-lightweight Sidewinder II wheels, while power is provided by a handcrafted all-aluminum 8.4-liter V10 engine rated at 640 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque.
While official pricing has yet to be revealed (estimated at $120,000), SRT says the TA will be offered in 159 units and three limited-edition colors, updating their initial claim that only 33 example will be built in "TA Orange". Now, the company says 93 Viper TA will be in "TA Orange", 33 in "Venom Black" and 33 in "Bright White".
More info in the 2014 SRT Viper TA is available in the official press release below.
