Spyshots: Track-Focused Jaguar XKR-S

As we had previously reported, Jaguar is working on a more track focused 911 GT3 RS and R8 GT rival, by giving the XKR-S more go (and stop). As you may have heard in this video, the car retains the excellent-sounding supercharged V8, however, we expect its output to be closer to 600 hp, rather than the standard car’s 550 hp.
The list of exterior mods includes a new and deeper front bumper, canards on the sides of the ‘nose’, a bonnet with more air intakes (again hinting at a more powerful engine), the massive racing brakes, now visible in the HD photos in the gallery and the racing wing on the back. We were also curious what the car looked like, sporting a different paintjob than the light blue coating most of the current XKR-Ss - so we made it red.

Further evidence of the car’s track-focused nature is the lack of any form of rear seating arrangement, with the front now featuring what appear to be full-on racing seats. We’re still not sure of the XKR-S’ role as a track focused supercar, as the original XK was a rather soft GT car for cruising, so the transition from that to the latest model is a bit of a stretch.
