Toyota has announced it’s placing emphasis on a new front-wheel drive platform that could potentially underpin as many as 40 of the cars they will sell worldwide within the next few years. In Europe, that means two things: new Corolla and new Auris.
The more upmarket of the two, the Auris, will also spawn a wagon or estate variant, which will offer different styling from the C-pillar back. This is the very car in question, the Auris Estate that should be revealed towards the end of this year.

Toyota has already announced the new Corolla and Auris will make their market arrival in 2012, produced at two of their European factories, with the Auris being scheduled for production in the UK.

The 2012 Auris is likely to be the first Toyota to use BMW-sourced four-cylinder turbodiesel engines, namely a 1.6-liter and a 2.0-liter unit.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
