After we showed you the first shots of the upcoming MINI Cooper last week, now it's time to take a look at the S version of the British model.

In the endeavor of figuring out what makes this the S model, you have to look at the centrally-mounted exhaust pipes, the boot has a scoop on it, the air intakes are lower in the bumper and the roof received a new spoiler.

However, if the exterior styling cues have been revealed now, despite all that heavy camouflage around them, we're still not certain about what engine will be using that famous scoop in the bonnet.

Some say that the award winning 1.6-liter BMW-PSA engine will be kept for the next generation model, whilst some say that the new 1.5-liter 3-cylinder unit will take its place. We, for one, would definitely like to have both.

The 3-cylinder has that baby-six sound to it, whilst the 1.6-liter is already an icon in the car's history. What will MINI choose? We don't know for sure right now but we're definitely eager to find out!
