Skoda has recently taken its Rapid prototype to the Nurburgring, with the carmaker accelerating the development of the vehicle. Of course, our spy shooters were there and we can now give you the pics of the almost camo-free car.
The vehicle is also wearing a few decals around the front and rear lights, but the rest of the car has been left uncovered. The Rapide will be slotted between the Fabia sub-compact and the Octavia, which will allow the latter to move upmarket and become a proper mid-size sedan.
Skoda wants to release the Rapide next year and the company is expected to use an older platform, not the new VW Group MQB platform, in order to be able to bring the car to the market by then. However, the vehicle is expected to use the VW Group’s new-generation engines, in order to offer a proper level of efficiency.
