Volkswagen has already turned the MQB platform into three hot hatches, the GTI, GTD and R. Skoda also has lots of Octavia vRS models that go fast. But when you ask Spanish carmaker SEAT where theirs is, they'll tell you it's not ready yet.
That's because they are planning something big, something that will blow us away. Tired of being the fifth wheel of the VW Group, SEAT has made the Leon family bigger and cooler, adding new technologies and two new body types, the SC coupe and ST estate.

This last model is getting the hot hatch treatment and will become a member of a very rare breed of cars: hot hatch estates. With its only rival being the Ford Focus ST Estate, the Spanish family man's car will try to top the American by offering about 260 hp.

This test prototype has been spotted only recently in Spain. It's a mule based on a FR trim car, but fitted with lower suspension, wheels stolen from the Golf 6 R and makeshift double exhaust at the back.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
