The current Renault Koleos is still going strong, but its facelifted old Korean bones are getting tired, and soon it will have to be put out to pasture.
Although it might not look like it, this is its replacement… in the works. Renault engineers have created a test mule based on a Grand Scenic body that was spotted testing recently on European roads.
The mule has a widened track that requires fender flares to be installed. The fact that this will eventually become a bigger vehicle is also indicated by the fact that weights have been added to the roof and the front fenders to simulate added weight.
The chassis found underneath this mule will likely also go into the next Nissan Qashqai, one of Europe's most successful models in recent years.
This C-segment crossover will sit about the Clio-based Captur in the model range and should be on sale in a little less than two years.
