Spyshots: Renault Megane Sedan

The new Renault Megane hatchback is already a successful model but some people are still wondering how the sedan version is actually going to look like. Well, here are the first spyshots showing the sedan flavor of the Megane which is going to be launched, according to some media reports, later this year.

As you can see for yourselves in the adjacent images, the new sedan boasts a redesigned front and rear fascia, both of them covered with a black camo. Still, we can notice a new front bumper, redesigned headlights (partially hidden under camouflage) and a new grille. The rear is redesigned as well and now boasts a new bumper and reshaped taillamps.

Only a little is known at this time, but the sedan will most likely borrow some design elements from the hatchback counterpart which already proves to be a very popular model across the Europe. Megane Sedan will play a key role in the global strategy of the French manufacturer, especially in South and East European and South American markets.

As for the engines to be featured on the new sedan, they will be probably the same with the ones available on the hatchback flavor.

The hatchback is offered in a wide array of engine choices, including diesel and gasoline units. The top of the range gas unit is the 2.0-liter configuration that develops 180 horsepower and propels the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds while topping at 139.8 mph (225 km/h). The most powerful diesel on the other hand is the 1.9 dCI, which brings out 130 horsepower along with a maximum speed of 127.4 mph (205 km/h).
