We’ve seen spyshots of the upcoming F82 BMW M4 Coupe before, but this time we’ve got something special for you. BMW has brought the M4 to the Nurburgring in a more advanced stage, moving from prototypes to pre-production form and our spy shooters were there to snap the car.
As you can see, the vehicle shows golden brake calipers, which means that it’s wearing the carbon ceramic brakes, which are being faced with the full force of the Green Hell. Since the car is now a pre-production vehicle, it was time to leave the Black hue of the prototypes behind and get dressed in Silver.
Unofficial sources indicate that the F82 BMW M4 Coupe will ditch the E92 M3’s naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter V8 for a powerplant that will be based on the N55 unit powering the F30 335i 3 Series. Despite the new unit only displacing 3.0-liters, this will at least keep the 420 hp output of the engine it replaces, turning to twin-turbo technology in order to achieve this.
Don’t worry though, the F82 M4 will certainly be faster than the E92 M3 Coupe, thanks to a diet that will see the vehicle feed itself with advanced materials such as carbon fiber.
Just like the previously-spied F82 M4 Coupe prototypes, the vehicle we are looking at now sports full-LED headlights. This could mean that while the 4 Series Coupe will offer the lights as an option, they will be standard on the M4.
