As the car was testing on the icy circuit in Sweden, where all the carmakers gather for winter testing, our photographers captured this set of photos showing the upcoming Opel Astra drop-top. We’re big fans of the Astra Bertone from a while back, but the previous generation CC... not so much.
The flop of the old generation cabrio will reportedly result in Opel changing the name of the car completely. The other change is that the folding metal roof will b replaced with a fabric one for this generation. This will have a similar structure to the one you see here, but of course the rear glass will be different.

Rumor has it the Astra drop-top will borrow the trick suspension developed for the GTS, and its engine range as well, limiting itself the the 180 hp Turbo (1.6-liter) at the top end.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
