Now, the Munich-headquartered company has taken the upcoming 7 Series, codenamed G11 and set to be launched in 2016, for a test drive at the famed Nurburgring track. Little is known about the next-generation 7 Series, but word has it BMW will make extensive use of carbon fiber reinforced plastic for weight-saving purposes and introduce a series of fuel-efficient turbocharged engines, including a 2.0-liter unit.
