Suzuki is a relatively small car company, which doesn't have that many sales outside of Japan. Due to an uninspiring lineup of cars, they've had to retire from the US marketplace and they aren't doing much better in Europe.
Despite this, they is showing some signs of improvement, with the new S-Cross making for a much better crossover than the SX4, thanks to better build quality and more room. It looks like the formula they used for that vehicle is being put to use once again, only on a larger scale.

This interesting-looking test prototype is undoubtedly a Suzuki, a big one at that. We think it could be a replacement for the aging Grand Vitara, which has been in production since 2005.

Some sources say this prototype is actually a production version of the IV-4 Concept from last year's Frankfurt Motor Show. The thing is, that car was 4,215mm long, which would mean this is slightly smaller than the SX4 S-Cross, which measures 4,300mm from bumper to bumper.

That's why we favor the idea that this is a big crossover, one designed to directly rival the Skoda Yeti and Nissan Qashqai. There's a big market in Europe for these things, and fortunately Suzuki has decent reputation in the offroad segment. This new Suzuki model is set to go on sale in Europe in 2015 and will use Suzukis latest ALLGRIP, but there will be FWD versions as well, designed not only to be cheaper but also more fuel efficient.

As the new Suzuki SUV continues its development, we're bound to learn more of its secrets, so stay tuned.
