Once every couple of years, Renault tries to reinvent himself with new designs or cars that change the way we perceive the brand. At the 2012 Paris Motor Show, they revealed the new Clio, which has since influenced ever one of their new models' design. In September 2014, Paris will once again host the diamond devolution, and this time it will be the Twingo's turn to be renewed.
This car has been testing for more than a year now, and we have the latest spy videos from Sweden, where engineers are trying to find out how it handles the cold. This new Twingo is developed on the same platform as the smart fortwo and forfour. As a result, it's got the power coming from a rear-mounted engine carefully packed under the floor of the boot. It's also rear-wheel drive.
The interesting thing is that even though this is a 5-door, the rear windows don't wind down because Renault want to cut costs wherever it can. It also has drum brakes at the back for much the same reason.
