Taking a break from our usual cold weather testing spyshots, we bring you news from not-so-sunny Spain, where our photographers managed to take these latest pictures.
Much of the thick camouflage that was once covering the whole car has "fallen off", as Mercedes' engineers are letting us know the car is getting excitingly near to its unveiling.
While the body of the C 63 is basically just a wider version of the regular C-Class, much is changing in the drivetrain. Power has been officially been confirmed to be coming from a 4-liter engine based on the M133 2-liter in the A/CLA/GLA 45 AMG. Don't expect double the power, as the output will be somewhere between 460 and 480 hp. All of it will focused through a 7-speed gearbox to an electronically controlled limited slip diff. BMW is ditching bushes in favor of more rigid ball joints and it will be interesting to see how AMG finds its extra rigidity.
The unveiling of the C63 AMG remains a mystery, with most sources suggest 2015 as the debut date for the car. Much can change in that time, but with the M3/M4 and Lexus RC F already gunning for a fight, performance is on everyones' minds these days.
