It is often said that the German engineers have no sense of humor, but we've got a set of spy photos that shows the exact opposite. These images, which were recently snapped by our spy shooters, show a Mercedes-Benz S-Class that seems to be in a production-ready form, with the car only covered in a thin layer of plastic.
Of course, this does manage to hide the details, but it is enough to allow us to draw the conclusion that the car's front end is extremely close to what we've seen in the latest set of renderings. Thus, we'll get a design that mixes elegant with futuristic styling cues. As for the rear of the vehicle is better covered and we can't see anything though the plastic.
Another hint that this is a production ready car is offered by the shot in which the driver's door is open. Although we can't see too many details of the cabin, it is clear that this is well finished, so it doesn't belong to a prototype.
The S-Class is set to become even more important in the Mercedes range than before, as it will include six versions: the standard one, a long wheelbase one, a coupe and a cabriolet, as well as two models that will replace the defunct Maybach models.
