Spotting a really rare prototype of an upcoming car is quite a rare feat, yet as the guys over autoclub.bg spotted a Maserati Ghibli (5-Series-sized sedan), with heavy camouflage, driving quite quickly, on a stretch of French Italian highway. The car recently got its official name, Ghibli, after everybody was expecting them to call it Levante.
The latter will now be adopted for the firm’s upcoming SUV, which will be based on the Jeep Grand Cherokee paltform. From the side, the profile looks to be very similar to that of the new Quattroporte, the shape of which we know via a few leaked patent drawings. We hope Maserati doesn’t make both cars look the same, despite it being the way to go, if the highly-successful German automakers are anything to go by.
Expect to see the Maserati Ghibli unveiled in March of 2013, at the Geneva Motor Show.
