The Dacia Logan is a project that debuted back in 2004 and was Renault's effort to give the Romanian low-cost carmaker it had basically created decades ago and subsequently parted ways with, it’s first new-age dedicated vehicle.
Thanks to its low price and practicality, the Logan became extremely popular, not just in its home country, but also abroad, with the list of markets where the car has enjoyed success including, for example, Germany.
The vehicle received a facelift, but this was a minor one and Renault has been working full-throttle to develop the second generation of the Logan. Our spy photographers recently encountered a Logan II test vehicle that seemed to be in production-ready form. However, the vehicle was covered with a full-body cover, so we can’t seem many of the details.
The second generation of the Logan will be underpinned by the platform of the Renault Fluence, which means it will be even more generous in terms of interior space and it will come with seriously updated technology.
As for the styling, this promises to be all that the original couldn’t. You see, when the first Logan was created, Renault sent a Scotish designer to Romania in order for him to understand the local traditions and preferences and incorporate them in the design of the car. However, the result was less than pleasing, so nobody was pleased with the design of the Logan.
However, the second generation will bet on the styling card to attract customers, so expect details such as a sporty front mesh grille and stylish light clusters at both ends. The new Logan is set to arrive to the Paris Motor Show this fall, as a concept, with the production version probably set to make it debut in March next year, at the Geneva Motor Show.
