Spyshots: MINI's All-New MPV Has 6 Doors

Why is the rear hatch of the a car considered a door? Because when you open it, you gain access to the cabin. Based on that, windows should be called doors too.

Regardless of the weird and wonderful way in which the auto industry works, this is an important new prototype, and it has lots of doors. While the original Austin Mini only had two of those and an oven door to stick things into at the back, this MINI has six doors.

An MPV based on the new UKL1 platform built by launched and this test mule is being used for development. The back appear to be based on the countryman and the front on the new Cooper S, but we can't really tell for sure. At the back though, we have two doors instead of a hatch, hinged to either side like on a van.

The Clubman has that too, but these open wider and incorporate longer lights, not tall ones like on any MINI.

Some sources say this MPV will be called the Freeman. Whatever the name, MINI is preparing an extra-big people-mover.
