Our spy photographers have caught up with a couple of brand new MINIs testing in Europe. These are production versions of the Paceman concept that we’ve been waiting on for so long. Rumor has it that when it enters production, the Paceman will actually be known as the Countryman Coupe.
Judging by the advanced state of the prototypes, MINI looks set to bring the SUV coupe to market via this fall’s Paris Motor Show.
Interestingly, the whole front of the vehicle has been left undisguised, letting us know it will be identical to the Countryman we already see on the road.
The engine range will start with the usual boring base units the One and One D, and will basically be identical to the four-door version of the SUV all the way to the full JCW, producing 211 hp via its 1.6-liter twin-scroll turbo. This will be a very desirable car our book!
