November is the magic month for MINI, as they announced that the new model will be unveiled on the 18th of the month, at the Los Angeles and Tokyo Auto Shows. Until then, the German-owned company is testing the wheels off the little car.
Actually little might not be the word for MINIs from now on. As you can see from the most recent spy shots posted below, the Mk3 model seems to have grown in both length and width compared to the previous model.

Based on the UKL platform that is said to spawn 12 to 14 new models in the BMW Group (including MINI), the upcoming model has a smaller front grille, a longer bonnet and slimmer A-pillars.

The exterior is still instantly recognizable, especially thanks to the big headlights at the front. The interior is a different story though. Our previous spy shots of the cabin showed that the huge center speedo will disappear, being replaced by a more conventional stereo control panel and navigation system (for cars that will be fitted with such an option).

Under the longer bonnet we'll probably be seeing the brand new B38 family of 1.5-liter, 3-cylinder turbocharged engines with power outputs somewhere between 120 and 220.
