Spyshots: Mercedes S-Class Coupe With Less Camo

Our automotive spies were in sunny Catalonia, Spain, yesterday and managed to capture fresh shots of Mercedes' latest large luxury coupe. This is the S-Class Coupe, getting ready for its 2014 debut onto the automotive scene. It will be a car that really doesn't have a rival in Germany, a luxury car.

Based on the same platform as the new S-Class limousine, the new coupe will have true luxury features, like frameless rear glass, Mercedes' intelligent Magic Body Control and even a perfume dispenser. In short, you really could pick this car over a Bentley Continental GT.

Replacing the CL-Class with this S-Class Coupe model will be a controversial but welcomed move for the German automaker, simplifying their intricate list of model names. The design will not be entirely identical to the S-Class. The grille is more muscular, the boot and hind quarters more sloped and the greenhouse lower. We now all this because this prototype has come out for testing with a lot less camouflage in Spain.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
