Even though it's not the best selling Porsche right now, everybody wants to make a rival for the 911 sportscar, not only because it's cool, but also because if you can take on the 911 it brings instant respect.
First was the Audi R8, a worthy adversary. After Jaguar's F-Type and now comes a worthy adversary from McLaren. The same company that has proven you can take on the mighty Ferrari 458 with a turbo engine is now after the 911's title.

We caught up with development of the McLaren P13. A MP4-12C based prototype was spotted undergoing testing. Camouflage covers most of the body, so we can't tell you what the car looks like. But expect the usual blend of alien curves and creases McLaren accustomed us to.
Right now, rumor has it the power comes from a 3.8-liter, the same displacement as a Carrera S. But it's a V8, not a boxer-6, plus it should be turbocharged.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
