The current car has always been a sort of animal, fitted with a snappy set of paddles and a V8 engine that’s louder than life. So this sort of testing on a fast and unforgiving track is to be expected!

The Italians have always been a proud bunch, and even though they hid the shape of the new four-door luxury saloon under a wall of camouflage, they still let us know it’s a trident car underneath.

The Quattroporte is the first of what will likely be three new Maseratis that are expected to revitalize the brand.

Recent reports suggest the car will be equipped with your choice of either a supercharged V6 or a turbocharged V8, both mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox built by ZF.
