Maserati’s plans for revival include a new Quattroporte, a smaller sedan rumored to the called the Levante and the Kubang SUV. The Italians refused to reveal in which order these will come, but it’s pretty clear to anyone who’s been following our spyshots section that the Quattroporte will be first to arrive.
This is scheduled to be revealed at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show in January. It will be the first to show what sort of engines Maserati is going to use in the future: a twin-turbo V6 and a new V8. After that, the baby sedan will be launched.

Called the Levante, this will rival German models such as the mercedes E-Class and the BMW 5-Series. It’s due in late 2013, and already test mule versions have begun their roadwork.

This prototype uses the body of the current Quattroporte. We can see the hood is being held in place with clips, not with a front latch, like you’d see on a race car. Also, the disk brakes are much too small for a car of this size.
