Spyshots: Lamborghini Cabrera Shows What All the Hype Is About

The most popular Lamborghini of all time in terms of sales is no more, as production of the Gallardo stopped on November 25. In fact about half the Lambos ever made and sold are Gallardos. Those are some really big shoes to fill, but they have a heck of a car for us.

While McLaren gives us small turbos engined supercars and Ferrari will follow them in 2015, the Italian bull is going to be all-motor, all-muscle and all-cool. The car that comes after the Gallardo will keep its V10 engine and give it more power. 600 European horsepower will be put at the driver's disposal, delivered to a more advanced all-wheel drive system and the obligatory paddle-shifting autobox.

Lamborghini is going to show this car next year. Rumor has it it's called the Cabrera, and we have the latest spy images of the supercar taken back in sunny Italy. It looks planted in the corners and handles much better than its predecessor. So while we're sorry to see the Gallardo go, Lamborghini is giving us something to really look forward to next year.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
