Most people consider sportscars to be sleek coupes, as roadsters lose a little bit of their soul in order to put the wind in your middle-aged hair. However, because Jaguar had to pay tribute the iconic E-Type, the F-Type had to be a roadster first and a coupe later.
Ever since we first set our eyes on the stunning C-X16 Concept, we knew the F-Type coupe will be a stunner. Now, production of that desirable hardtop draws near. How do we know? It's because the first prototype has been spotted in camouflage. Black vinyl covers the roof of the car to make us think it's a regular roadster, but there's no fooling us here.
Jaguar will have to test the same range of powertrains as its roofless brother, including two 3-liter supercharged V6s, delivering 335bhp (340 PS) and 375bhp (380 PS), as well as a supercharged V8 that produces 488bhp (495 PS). Rumors suggest a 2-liter four-cylinder turbo will also be introduced, just like the one on a Range Rover Evoque.
