Spyshots: Jaguar F-Type Convertible

Jaguar is working hard to put the C-X16 concept into production as the F-Type roadster. However, we’re displeased to report that some of the cool design feature seen on the concept are gone, and what’s left is a simpler car with less fuss.

This prototype recently caught by our spy photographers has a pair of big centrally-mounted exhausts, much like those on the Porsche Boxster S.

Fortunately, we don’t have to speculate about what sort of engines will be on offer, as Jaguar has already announced that the production F-Type will have a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 producing 380 PS and 460 Nm (339 lb-ft) of torque.

Reports have indicated a turbo four-cylinder for the base car and even the mighty 550 PS V8 from the XKR-S.
