Going after BMW and Mercedes is tough business, especially when the market is by no means short of competitors. But Infiniti still thinks it has what it takes and is now developing the next generation of G sedan.
The vehicle you see was capture in Northern Scandinavia as it engineering teams were testing a new set of underpinnings, which show a wider track, as the wheels are sticking out more than usual. The re-engineered G is expected to debut in 2014, so these are early times for the struggling Japanese luxury automaker.

Following Renault-Nissan’s new partnership with Mercedes, Infiniti is rumored to benefit from the introduction of new diesel engines and other fuel-saving technologies that will create more appeal.

It’s also rumored that the gasoline range will switch away from the 3.7-liter V6 engine to a smaller turbo engine, though it’s not clear if this is a four- or six-cylinder unit.
