Spyshots: Hyundai i20 Prototype Spied, We Think It's The Facelifted Version

As we begin to tell you about the latest spyshots showing the Hyundai i20 during testing, please remember that the year is 2015, not 2014. So what's with the spy photos, you might ask? Well, it seems Hyundai is already preparing a facelift for the i20.

Roughly nine months have passed since Hyundai revealed the new 2015 i20 during the Paris Motor Show 2014, but our team of carparazzi was successful in spotting a test mule that to us, looks like a revised i20.

Yes, we also think it's very early for such a model to pop up, but maybe Hyundai want to take their time rather than rush things with the refreshed i20.

Last time we had to deal with Hyundai-related spyshots, photographers sent a batch of pictures showing the i20 Coupé being put through its paces. The reason we brought this up is simple: the recently spied model hides a redesigned grille under the black camo layer, similar to what we saw on the i20 Coupé.

Also, the interior was covered up, so we expect some design changes to be made in this area as well. From where we're standing, this makeover wants to take the i20's design closer to what Hyundai is offering in their current line-up.

Regarding what might work under the hood, we don't expect new additions, not since the South Koreans recently joined the downsizing trend with the all-new Kappa 1.0-liter T-GDI turbocharged three-cylinder engine, rated at 120 HP and 172 Nm (126 lb-ft) of torque.

We'll keep you posted as soon as our car photographers send in more pictures, which is very likely to happen shortly.
