There’s a ‘mysterious’ Citroen sedan lurking around wearing camouflage and our carparazzi spotted the test prototype during cold weather testing in Sweden, a month after the same car was photographed in Spain.
Pictures show the same amount of camouflage covering the Citroen testing prototype but there’s no doubt we’re looking at the same model that targets buyers on a budget, who only want to go from A to B with decent space for luggage and no other fancy desires.

Citroen’s new compact sedan - because judging from its size, that’s what the car looks like - will enter in a segment dominated by the likes of Mazda3 and VW Jetta and even the Dacia Logan to an extent - in terms of pricing.

Regarding its underpinnings, we strongly believe that the sedan will use PSA’s new EMP2 platform which was also adopted by the Peugeot 308. That solution is clearly aiming at low fuel consumption, provided PSA will also allot a new engine range for its upcoming sedan.

Speaking of which, we expect both petrol and diesel departments to be well covered by the 82 HP natural aspirated unit plus the new 1.2 THP turbos and the 1.6 BlueHDi, respectively.

Even if heavy camouflaged, the sedan is showing a basic design and the halogen headlights use regular halogen bulbs, but Citroen played the rebel game for the rear end, which offers LED taillights.

The model will be bigger and fit in a slot higher than the Citroen C-Elysee / Peugeot 301 and it’s likely that we will see some of C4 Cactus’ styling cues adopted for the sedan’s exterior.
