The current generation of the BMW 5-Sieres was launched in 2009 as a sedan and a year after that came the F11 Touring. Now, BMW is working on a facelifted version to serve as a Life Cycle Impulse as they call it.
Fortunately, the 5-Series is still a very desirable car right now, but it looks like they might be changing the bumper a bit for the 2014 model year when this refreshed model will likely be available. But don’t be fooled by the camouflage, not that much is going to change.
By careful analysis, we can only tell that the air intakes at the front will be different. But the grille and headlights might also merge like on the F30 3-Series. The side indicators have been moved to the mirrors, while the taillights will have new graphics.
Production of the facelifted 5-Series range is supposed to start in July 2013. There's talk that the N55 in the 535i will be replaced and that the V8 models will get an update, but we don't yet know for sure.
