Spyshots: BMW's New 7-Seater 1 Series GT

The upcoming UKL platform seems to be nothing short of amazing. As we told you earlier, it is set to be the stepping stone for around 20 models from both BMW and MINI and all of them will have either front wheel or all wheel drive systems on board.

Today, our team of spy photographers caught up with yet another model based on this platform, the 1 Series GT. However, this is no ordinary 1er. As you can see it's almost as big as the 5 Series parked right next to it so, it's a bit bigger than a regular 5 seater.

That's because this is no 5 seater but a 7 seater instead. Compared to the previous spyshots that uncovered the regular 1 Series GT, this one is longer and has a different design towards the back. The rear doors are stretched out and the back is more upright, in order to make it roomier.

This new model is expected to be launched somewhere in early 2014, as its 5-seat brother will most likely be revealed at Frankfurt in September. The engines that will be powering these cars are expected to be using just 3 cylinders and some electric motors or we might even see some 4-cylinder turbocharged engines.
