The main question on everybody's mind was if the new Cabrio will have a hard or soft top, this being a defining trait of character for BMW's new model. Apparently, as out trusty team of spy photographers discovered, the F33 will follow the E93's design and offer a hard-top version for the best selling convertible BMW ever made.

The wheelbase of the new cabriolet will be longer, offering more space for the occupants of the car. But what about the roof folding mechanism? How will it change due to the new chassis?

As the photos will show you, BMW decided to keep the same mechanism used on the E93 series. First the boot opens allowing the whole roof to come up. After that, the rear window goes down under the roof inside the trunk of the car and the boot covers everything up.
