This strange looking convertible covered in black and white swirls is actually the replacement for the current 3-Series Convertible, which has soldiered on despite being based on the old platform. BWM is taking its sweet time with the replacement that scheduled to enter full production in 2013.
The car should get the designation F33 following the automaker’s usual naming scheme, but it’s yet unclear if this is the 3-Series or the 4-Series we’re looking at.
This sighting provides us with a rare glimpse of the new interior of the car, as the three-piece electric roof is tucked away in the trunk. The dash is identical to that of the F30 3-Series, so it really doesn’t look good for the 4-Series rumors.
So, there really isn’t anything new about the convertible, but despite its wayward looks and lack of radical innovation, it’s still going to be a benchmark car.
