The F15 X5 will start production in August, just in time to arrive in showrooms early next year. However, the X5 M will most likely hit the dealers towards the end of 2014. Today's spyshots show us just how different the new Bimmer will be.

As you can see, even with all that camouflage, the front fascia is a little more aggressive and the headlights seem to be connected to the kidney grilles. Furthermore, they've also been redesigned, to resemble the ones found on the current F25 X3.

The massive wheels and the quad tailpipes are clear giveaways of the sportive character of this X5, along with the traditional blue M brake calipers and the drilled rotors (a first for any X5).

The new model will clearly be faster than its predecessor. The 4.4-liter biturbo V8 unit under the bonnet will most likely get a slight power increase and the kerb weight of the SAV will be reduced using some of BMW's newest technologies like CFRP (carbon fibre reinforced polymer) and light alloys.

The BMW plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina will be the one responsible for building the new Sports Activity Vehicle along with the X3, X4 and X6 models.
