After looking at some interesting spyshots of the future F10 5 Series LCI model, it's time for its bigger brother to undergo the same treatment. These new photos suggest that BMW is not quitting on the GT 5er but they're updating it.
Since it was released, back in 2010, the Turismo version of the latest 5 Series failed to rise to the expectations. Many said that it was due to its controversial design and we tend to agree.
Let's face it, the rear end was a disaster. It was too massive and heavy for a BMW, no matter whether it was a GT or not. Now, the designers and engineers from the Bavarian company seem to have understood what everyone's been telling them and are redesigning the car.
The front end will be closer to the LCI 7er, with reshaped headlights, grille area and front bumper whilst at the back we'll be seeing a moving spoiler, kind-of the same as the one used on the 3 Series GT.
As for the interior, not many changes are expected and we still don't know if the German company will be introducing some new engines for the biggest 5er. We expect to see some new info as we get closer to the official unveiling which is supposed to take place in Detroit, next year.
