BMW officially took the wraps off the 3 Series Gran Turismo a model that brings increased practicality to the compact executive car family. The car will make its debut in Geneva next month and will go on sale a bit later in the year. However, that isn't the only Gran Turismo BMW currently on our radar.
A few months ago, the Germans began testing for the facelift aka Life Cycle Impulse for the whole 5 Series family, including the Gran Turismo model unveiled in 2009.

At the front, changes are going to be as unimaginative as we've come to expect from them. If we're not mistaken, the headlights are actually going to have a different design. The inner area that's closest to the grille has an inverted angle compared to the current 5 Series model. Naturally, that line is going to dictate a completely different lower bumper as well, more in line with the evolutionary design of the 3-Series.

Round the back, changes are going to be a little bit less drastic, the lower bumper appearing to be the same as before. The criticized shape of the boot lid is going to get a makeover, as BMW likely wants a smaller, more elegant design that's less like an X6 and more like a regular sedan. Heavy camouflage is still covering the back of the car, but plastic covers meant to mimic the old shape have been put in place, indicating that changes have indeed been made there.
