When BMW launched the X6, everybody said it’s very impractical as an SUV and it has bad visibility out the back. But here were are in 2012, when just about every carmaker has or is bringing a bit of coupe style to the segment. The game has moved, and Sports Activity Coupes are big hits.
Audi is no different, as Walter de Silva, head of VW Group design, has already confirmed they are working on the Q6, which will be based on the Q5 platform, but will be more elegant. "We will definitely launch a sportier crossover in between the Q7 and Q5," de' Silva said.

As you can see from these spy images, the Q6 is in prototype form. The vehicle spotted in Scandinavia has obviously been stretched between the doors, but overall it’s not a lot bigger than the Q5, which is a good thing.

The Q6 coupe crossover is coming in 2016, one year later than Mercedes Benz’s answer, which will arrive in 2015. There’s no point in talking about future engines, as Audi has more V6 versions than a caterpillar has legs.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
