Spyshots: Audi A7 Facelift

The Audi A7 is a brand new concept for Audi, a nameplate that has never existed before. Because Ingolstadt didn't want to make a big coupe like the BMW 6 Series, they decided a four-door coupe was better, since it's more practical.

Thanks to a very wide stance and unique design, the A7 was well received, especially now in 2013, when a hot 560 PS RS7 version exists.

Despite all this, Audi chose to give the A7 a facelift, maybe because it wants this very successful model to be equipped with the latest technology they have available. Our spy photographers have spotted a test vehicle for the 2015 A7 in Germany. While their telescopic lenses weren't able to to cats the front of the vehicle, we believe that is where they will install the latest Matrix LED technology.

Just like the bigger Audi A8, trapezoidal exhaust pipes have been fitted. This will be standard across the normal A7 range, but not fitted to the S7 and RS7. Also like the A8, new and improved engines will be fitted. For example, the popular 3.0 TDI will be upgraded from 245 PS to 250 PS or 258 PS. Still no word on if the A7 will get bigger and better engines, such as the 4.2-liter TDI with 385 PS that is available on the bigger A8. We really hope the basic 2.8 FSI is gone from the basic model, since its output is embarrassingly well below that of a VW Golf GTI.
