Spyshots: Audi A3 Cabrio with Less Camo

Audi has already teased its next most important car for the global market, the A3 Sedan, ahead of its debut this week at the 2013 New York Auto Show. However, our spy photographers have caught up with another hot new A3 model which will expand the German marque into new territory.

The A3 Cabrio is being transformed into a totally different car, with a long boot like a sedan, a bit like the A5 Cabrio only much cheaper.

Speaking of the money, the A3 should be a viable alternative to the ever-popular VW Eos or the recently launched Opel Cascada. Power isn't really a concern for most customers who will buy this car, but we could see as much as 300 horsepower under its bonnet if demand for an S3 Cabrio exists.

For the normal people who don't want to go 155 mph in a convertible, 1.2 TFSI, 1.4 TFSI and a couple of TDI should do just fine.

Cosmetically, this car will be pretty much the same as any other 2013 A3 model. For a sportier look, Audi will be able to fit an S line cosmetic package, likely to be hiding under all that camo in these photos, with larger air intakes and other cosmetic goodies.

Expect the new A3 Cabrio to make its official debut later this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
