The all-new BMW X5M, codenamed F15, was spotted on the Nurburgring, while it was undergoing testing. Not a lot is known about the upcoming model, but the fact that it will continue to use the same turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 unit is a sure thing.
Power is also expected to remain around the 560 hp mark, despite the engine being thoroughly reworked for the new car. It is also expected to follow other manufacturers’ SUV trend of shedding weight, as Porche have done with the new Cayenne, as well as the new Range Rover, or the Volkswagen Touareg.
It will definitely keep the current X5M and X6M driving characteristics, with the massive torque figure of 680 Nm, being transmitted through all-four wheels, it will be safe, controlled, surprisingly sporty and effortless. It is expected to make its public debut towards the end of 2013.
