The expansion of the Subaru model range is upon us, as the Japanese automaker has begun testing not only the new Legacy sedan, but also this, the all-new Outback.
These are the very first spyshots of what we believe is the 2015 model year Outback, which is likely to make an official debut either at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show or the New York Auto Show that follows it.

Just like the 2014 Forester SUV is much bigger than its predecessor, so to will this model be more spacious. Form what we can tell from these photos, the new Outback will have a sleeker design with rakish front and rear windows.

Under the sculpted bonnet, the base engine on offer will continue to be a 2.5-liter, but following the industry trend, the new Outback will forego a big six-cylinder 3.6-liter DOHC unit in favor of the new turbo 2.0-liter which gets better mileage.

Expect the more modern styling to be inspired partially by the Viziv Concept shown this tear at the Geneva Motor Show.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
