Even though it was revealed just 2 years ago at Skoda's museum in Mlada Boleslav, the third-generation (Typ 5E) Octavia is preparing for its mid-cycle aesthetic refresh. The facelift model is slated to arrive in European showrooms at some point in 2015.
Spotted by our talented carparazzi team undergoing high-altitude and cold weather testing, the prototype captured on film isn't as revealing as we would've liked. But despite the heavy camouflage wrap, we identified a couple of visual differences over the outgoing model.

First of all, there's the front bumper. At first sight, you'd think it looks like the one fitted to the current model, but take a closer look at the sides. See those edgy rectangular fog light surrounds resembling the ones adorning the outgoing Audi A4 sedan? That's one of the visual changes.

The rear bumper seems to have been mildly revamped as well. It appears that it's slightly more prominent and decorated will less angular motifs than the bumper fitted to the 2013 Skoda Octavia. Also, the red reflective tape strips seem to have been removed altogether.

At this point we are not sure if there will be any changes to the engine and transmissions options, but you can bet that the cabin will undergo a small nip-and-tuck job as well, while the infotainment system will be updated to the latest standards.

We remind you that the all-new Skoda Fabia has been recently spotted by spy photographers almost undisguised.
