Renault is currently working on the next generation of the Traffic light commercial vehicle (LCV) and we’ve recently snapped the prototype for the first time.
The van is still in the early development stages, so the test vehicle is fully covered in cammo. However, we can see that the the new Renault Traffic will feature a more massive front end, with a larger grille and generously-sized headlights.
In addition, the bonnet and the front window don’t share the same angle anymore, so it seems that the car has added some extra volume up front. Moving to the rear, we find the traditional ultra-long vertical lights, but the camouflage suggests these may be reinterpreted.
Considering Renault’s growing tie-up with Mercedes, the Trafic could borrow its mechanical side from the upcoming Mercedes Viano. If this happens, things will be different than in the case of the entry-level LCV, where Mercedes simply Rebadged the Renault Kangoo, turning it into the Citan.
The new Renault Traffic is expected to make its debut sometime in the course of 2015.
