Spyshots: 2015 Porsche Cayenne Turbo Getting 520 HP

Although it’s yet to be confirmed, the launch of the new Porsche Cayenne range could happen as early as next month. Which means if you're looking to buy a plush SUV that also has a sportscar, you might want to hold onto you money a little longer. Here's a nifty little V8 we have our eye on!

Our spy photographers have shown us a number of cool Cayenne prototypes today, among them being this Turbo. You can instantly tell it's the Turbo from the shape of the exhaust and of course the much larger air intake at the front compared to regular Cayenne models. For the 2015 model year, we're likely to see a comprehensive transformation reaching under the bonnet, into the cabin and touching the design in various ways.

Power upgrades are also likely. The Turbo is going to get its power boosted from the current 500 to 520 PS, torque remaining unchanged at 700 Nm from 2,250rpm all the way to 4,500rpm.

The flagship Cayenne Turbo S, meanwhile, will be boosted from 550 PS to 570 PS. Both will also be faster thanks to tweaked Tiptronic S gearboxes, superior response times for the V8 engine and other minute changes Porsche will make to the powertrain.

Also expect both models (and indeed the whole range) to adapt a new multifunction steering wheel and safety features such as adaptive cruise control system with automatic braking, camera-based traffic sign detection and lane departure warning system.
