With the previous generation Porsche Cayman coupe, "R" was the go-to letter when they wanted to make a hotter version of the car. It was fast and agile, but it never gained the notoriety of its 911 R counterpart, so the Germans are trying again with another set of letter which are synonymous with "fast".
Everybody knows about the Cayenne GTS and Panamera GTS. They win comparison tests all the time and are considered pure sports vehicles. Even Miley Cyrus drove a Cayenne GTS for a while!
Both the Boxster and Cayman will soon receive GTS variants. Both of them will have 15 more horsepower and will offer slightly improved design elements, such as 20-inch Carrera S wheel, lowered suspension and aero body parts.
At the same time, the response time of the 3.4-liter engines will be improved, together with those of the PDK gearboxes. Leaked information about these cars suggests they will arrive in mid-2014 after premiering in April, probably at the New York Auto Show.
