Earlier this week we brought you news that Ford is testing the next-generation S-Max on American soil. We have yet to discover whether the Blue Oval plans to bring the MPV to the United States, but we’re back with more photos of the vehicle.
According to our spy photographers, the S-Max prototype you’re about to see below was seen just outside Ford’s testing facility in Michigan. The vehicle is still wearing heavy camouflage, but we’re pretty sure the production model will be very close to the concept car that was shown in Frankfurt last year.
This means the next-gen S-Max will sport Ford’s new hexagonal front grille and will pretty much look like an enlarged Focus hatchback.
Getting back to our spyshots, we noticed that the vehicle caught in Michigan is fitted with dual exhaust pipes. This can only mean one thing: we’re looking at the S-Max ST, the range-topping performance version of the MPV, which would become available with the same 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine that plants 250 horses in the Focus ST.
