The Audi Q3 might not be the fastest car in its class, now that Mercedes has the GLA 45 AMG, but it's certainly not an embarrassment for the brand either. Launched into production in 2011, this model uses the PQ35 platform shared with the Tiguan and the old A3. It's been quite successful in Europe and is popular in Emerging markets like China and India, where it's also locally assembled.
We're now at the beginning of 2014, which means it's the right time to make the Q3 new again with a facelift. We expect this to be ready for late 2014 or early 2015 and already have the very first photos hinting at the design.
The rear of this heavily camouflaged shows a brand new, more angular lower bumper, which mirrors the 2014 A8 facelift to some degree. The design of the LED square halo is also different.
However, in our opinion the biggest change is going to be under the bonnet. The infamous all-2-liter engine family will benefit from the latest EA888 updated family. Better engine management, better use of heat and other measures should help reduce fuel consumption overall.
