Let us explain. The S-Class will no longer be a simple saloon. It will be a technological marvel and it will also grow into a whole family of vehicles that also replace the CL coupe and the Maybach brands cars. This will be accomplished by the stretched-wheelbase Pullman variant, which has not yet been tested.

But even the regular S-Class, like this one, will have advanced safety systems like Active Seat-belt Buckle, Active Parking Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Beltbag and Night View Assist Plus.

"The intelligent assistance systems of the future will be able to analyse complex situations and recognise potential dangers out on the road with the aid of improved environment sensor systems even more accurately than today," explains Mercedes-Benz board member Thomas Weber. "Figuratively speaking, the next S-Class won't just have eyes at the front; it will have 360-degree all-round vision."

Expect the full reveal of the new S-Class to take place some time next year, possibly in Geneva, or even in Beijing.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
