Nissan is getting ready to party it up at their Sunderland plant. After over a million units sold, the Qashqai is now being replaced by a new, much better model.
Only days separate us from the official debut of the 2014 Qashqai, scheduled to take place at 14:10 GMT on November 7th, 2013.
These latest spy shots don't tell us much we didn't know already. We have a teaser photo of the new crossover's front end to tell us what's behind the camo. But then again, it's interesting to see the parking sensors at the front-side of the bumper, which could indicate self-parking capabilities, or the camera sensors behind the windshield mirror.
Tech means nothing without efficiency, and the new Qashqai also has that new engines. The same 1.2 TCe as the Dacia Duster. Nissan has also officially confirmed a new version of the 1.5-liter diesel. This makes the same 110 PS but torque has been increased from 240 Nm to 260 Nm at 1,750rpm. The engine has been fitted with revised piezo-electric fuel injection nozzles, which now have a more precise spray pattern for better combustion (with as much as 15 percent less unburnt fuel) and a new, more responsive, low-inertia variable geometry turbocharger fed by a more direct and more efficient air intake path.
